What is DOP or PAO testing? +
It is an integrity test for HEPA filtration systems. A controlled aerosol is introduced upstream and a photometer measures any penetration downstream while the filter face, seals and housing are scanned. PAO is now commonly used as the aerosol, while the service is still widely called a DOP test.
Do you test only the HEPA filter? +
No. A loose filter can pass while the assembled machine still leaks around a seal, frame or housing. We test the filtration system as an assembled unit so the result reflects how the equipment actually performs.
How often should equipment be tested? +
H-Class vacuums are typically tested at least annually. Negative pressure units used for asbestos work are commonly tested every six months and after HEPA replacement or work that could affect filter integrity. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and any project, client or regulatory requirements that apply to your equipment.
What happens if my equipment fails? +
We identify the likely leakage point and explain the next practical step. Depending on the fault, that may be reseating or replacing a filter, repairing a seal or servicing the housing before retesting.
Can you test equipment on site? +
Workshop testing is available at DeconSafe in Auburn, NSW. On-site testing can be arranged for larger equipment, fixed systems or multiple-unit fleets. Send us the location and quantity for availability and pricing.
